PLANT MANAGER/OWNER
STEVE HAWKINS
Originally hailing from New Bern, North Carolina, Steve graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in finance. Steve has worked in the knit apparel manufacturing business for over 30 years. He has worked with Hudson Mfg. in New Bern during his early years, training under the NC State apparel legend, Skip Hudson. He then opened a factory in Ayden NC, and later Honduras for a run that lasted over 24 years. For the past 8 years, Steve has managed all sales and worked directly as CEO of Honduras cut/sew operations for the global powerhouse, Grupo Karims. He brings a vast knowledge of the industry, plus a commitment to provide the highest quality of apparel production in the USA
MANAGING PARTNER/OWNER
DR. DAVID TALTON
Also growing up in New Bern, North Carolina, David is currently a cardiothoracic surgeon practicing in Tupelo, Mississippi and the managing partner of America Knits. When not in the operating room or visiting with his children, he can be found in Swainsboro at the factory where he oversees the business department. He also regularly meets new clients and suppliers.
The opportunity for David and Steve to partner together in America Knits is a dream for both. Lifelong friends, David and Steve have been inseparable since elementary school.
